Environmental Tax

An Environmental Tax is a financial charge imposed by governments on activities that are considered harmful to the environment. These taxes are designed to incentivize businesses and individuals to reduce pollution and encourage sustainable practices.

Examples of Environmental Taxes include carbon taxes, which are levied on the carbon content of fuels, and taxes on waste disposal or hazardous substances. The revenue generated from these taxes is often used to fund environmental protection initiatives or renewable energy projects, promoting a transition to a greener economy.
