Form 9465 is a document used by taxpayers to request a payment plan for their federal income tax liabilities.

It is specifically designed for individuals who owe taxes and cannot pay the full amount due by the tax deadline. By submitting Form 9465, taxpayers can propose a monthly installment agreement to the IRS, allowing them to pay off their tax debt over time.

The form requires information such as the taxpayer’s name, address, Social Security number, the amount owed, and proposed monthly payment amount. If approved, the IRS will set up a payment plan that may include additional fees and interest.
